Dr. Olatomide, Onijuni Olufemi is an Associate Professor of Counselling Psychology at the Department of Counselling and Human Development, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
Dr. Olatomide, Onijuni Olufemi obtained Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Guidance and Counselling from Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti) in 1997. He proceeded for Master’s programme at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, where he bagged Master in Education (M.Ed.) in Guidance and Counselling in 2007. He bagged Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education (Guidance and Counselling) from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 2016. Since the time of graduation, starting with the first degree, he had practiced Guidance and Counselling in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions. In addition to practicing Guidance and Counselling across the different levels of education in Nigeria, Dr. Olatomide, Onijuni Olufemi had a stint of practice outside of the school system at the Guidance and Counselling Specialist Clinic (GCSC), Malali GRA, Kaduna between 1999 and early 2000. He is currently a counsellor-trainer at the Department of Counselling and Human Development, Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University. He has supervised a number of counselling students, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has published extensively in reputable national and international outlets. His research interests are on older workers’ employment, retirement, and grief management.
