Prof. Olusegun Fatai ADEBOWALE
Prof. O. F. Adebowale, obtained a B. Ag. (Hons) from the Obafemi Awolowo University in 1988, a Master of Arts in Education (Tests and Measurement) in 2007, Master of Education (Guidance and Counselling) in 2010 and bagged a Ph.D in Guidance and Counselling in 2013, all from the same university. He is currently the Head, Department of Counselling and Human Development, Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Osun state.
He specializes in counselling techniques with special bias in appraisal service (involving development, administration, analysis and interpretation of test and non-test counselling instruments), Techniques in the Counselling Process and Technology-Mediated Counselling. He has supervised a number of counselling students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels of education. He currently has more than fifty publications spread across different parts of the globe including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Lithuania, Philippines, South Korea, West Indies, South Africa, Uganda, and Ghana. In Nigeria, he has published in Sokoto, Benin, Ilorin, Portharcourt, Ekpoma, in his professional association’s journals and within the University.
He has served in a number of international assignments including Guest Editor of the British Journal of Guidance and Counselling, and Lead Paper Presenter at the 2nd International Conference on Guidance and Counseling of the Faculty of Education, State University of Surabaya, Indonesia. He also served as the Chairman of the Teacher Professional Development Cohort at the 2025 Distance Education and Teachers’ Training in Africa (DETA) conference on Education for Empowering the Global South held at Mauritius Institute of Education, Reduit, Mauritius.in July 2025.
