Dr Michael Adeniyi Omoyemiju is an Associate Professor of counselling psychology in the Department of Counselling and Human Development, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He obtained a B.Sc.Ed. (Economics), M.Ed. (Tests and Measurement), M.A.Ed. (Guidance and Counselling), PhD. (Guidance and Counselling) degrees at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and M.Sc. (Bioethics) at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He has been actively involved in teaching, educational and psychological research with special focus on burning issues affecting the sexual, social, and academic life of adolescents and young adults in Nigeria. He is a fellow of the Ford Foundation-funded Strengthening Programming for Adolescents and Youths through Resource and Knowledge Generation and Link to Evidence (SPARKLE) Fellowship, and the Fafunwa Educational Foundation (FEF) Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Education. He has attended several conferences, both nationally and internationally, and published many research articles in reputable journals in Nigeria and abroad. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Society for Adolescent and Young People’s Health in Nigeria (SAYPHIN), and the Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON).
